Cleaning Tips & Tricks

1. Place ground coffee grounds in your fridge. Use either an open container or small recycled box with holes. The coffee grounds help to absorb odors.

2. Clean your dishwasher and washing machine once a month with Vinegar, fill the detergent cup with vinegar and run cycle with Hot water. You can also use bleach, repeat the same process.

3. Ice cubes can clean the blades of your garbage disposal. Every week toss a few down the drain and turn on the disposal while running warm water. You can also add lemon juice to this process for a fresh smell.

4. Cover the bottom of your indoor trash can with newspaper or paper towels to help soak up any leaks.

5. Use denture cleansing tablets in the toilet in between cleanings. Drop into the water and let them soak/fizz for 30 minutes, brush, flush and your good as done.

6. Fill a small spray bottle with white vinegar to clean stainless steel fixtures, fridges, toasters, and other small appliances. Always test this method on a small surface before tackling a big job.

7. Dust real or artificial indoor plants with a dryer sheet, this is also great for lamp shades, picture frames, and collectibles.

8. Keep old toothbrushes, soak them in bleach and use them to dust, clean small areas, craft projects, outdoor furniture, outside windows/screens, etc.

Like any advise, use your own discretion and always test a small area before using any cleaning product.

Visit this Site weekly...

Here is a wonderful website with great info and products on Emergency Preparedness. We are avid food storage advocates and wish everyone would understand the need.

One of the things on my to-do list this weekend is to inventory our current food storage. With everything that's going on the world today, it's more important than ever! There is a worksheet available on their website that helps you determine what and how much your family needs. And, always stock up on water whenever it's on sale or you are able to buy extra.

We found that taking our own food and drinks helped save a ton on the snack costs the kids could have easily racked up. They do not allow you to take a cooler in the pool area, but you can pack goodies in your pool bag. They have a Snack Shack in the pool area, but the food and drinks were extremly overpriced.
